As the Liberian education system slowly emerges from a prolonged period of stagnation we see glimmers of hope in increasing education for girls and increasing access to higher education. The Africa Community Exchange (ACE) is expanding its role by improving the quality of teaching and learning, and by helping to rebuild the curricula, teaching methods and management staff.
While several institutions of higher education (public and private) offer teacher training, ACE focuses on existing teachers and the development of that population pool already working in community schools. ACE, with the assistance of donors and in partnership with the Teacher Training Institute, plans to implement an intensive program for approximately 60 teachers working in community-based primary schools in 2018. Your support will also go towards increasing the number of female teachers that will participate in the training by providing transportation, snacks, and a small stipend.
